The more elaborate and unique your project is, the better your grade. Do not make this a “same old same old” project, make it interesting. Find something you did not know about before and “show the world.” Be creative. If you desire to do your project in another format not given above, let me know and I am sure we can make it work. Put this project together as if I was going to display all of them to the school or on the internet, which may happen.
Grading for the project (listed for a single mathematician)
Originality/uniqueness…………………………………………20 points
Sufficient content (not all just pictures and quotes)……………20 points
Accuracy of facts………………………………………………10 points
Neatness………………………………………………………..10 points
“Interestingness”……………………………………………….15 points
-------------------------------------------------
TOTAL…………………………………………………………75 points
x 4
TOTAL FOR PROJECT...………………………………….300 points
HAVE FUN & GOOD LUCK!!!
Guidelines for Project
You are to choose four (4) different mathematicians of your choice from the given list. With each of these mathematicians you are to complete an informative project on them. This is not to be a biography but an overview of sorts of the accomplishments and/or contributions your mathematicians have done for Math and society. Try to find a “common link” between two, three, or all four if you can. Do not copy & paste random information into your project
Option #1 for Project
Option #1
You may choose to write a “traditional paper” on the four mathematicians. In this paper you should include relative information about your mathematicians and their works. Again, DO NOT MAKE THIS A SIMPLE BIOGRAPHY! Find a topic that you find “interesting” about your mathematician and go with it for you paper. The paper should not exceed two pages double spaced, 12pt font. Deductions will be taken off for larger fonts, shortened margins, and/or larger spacing!

Option # 2 for Project
Option #2
You may choose to do a “poster” for your mathematicians. This poster should include pictures, diagrams, descriptions, and several “inserts” for information about your mathematician(s). If you choose to do a single poster/collage for more than one of the mathematicians, the poster should be larger than the 11 x 13 minimum for a single mathematician. If you place all four in the same poster it should be on at least a 20 x 30 poster.

Option #3 for Project
Option #3
You may choose to do a “video” presentation on your mathematicians. This presentation can be a video collage of works, accomplishments, etc. accompanied with some narration. Music can also (and is strongly suggested) be used throughout the video. The presentation can also be done by power point. If done in power point, then you should have a minimum of 10 slides, points will be deducted for less than 10. You should include pictures, (lots of) information, “action” slides and movie clips if possible. Sound/narration is also required. At least one sound clip of more than 10 seconds must be inserted into your power point.

Option #4 for Project
Option #4
Yet another option is to create a website or a blog. This should be extremely creative being that you have the entire internet available for your use. You can make a separate page for each of your mathematicians and have them link back to a central page. BE CREATIVE!!! Embed video/sound clips, power points, pictures, etc. within your website. HAVE FUN!

Class List
I will keep a lost of all of the "Chosen" Mathematicians on my computer at school. Once you choose your 4, let me know and I will update the list. Remember it is first come first get.
Due Date
This project is due in to me by November 25th, the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. You may submit the project in to me by way of email, physically bringing it in to me, or letting me know the website address.I will give you at least one full class period between now and then to use the computers to gather information so that you may complete your project.
